Officials at Millhaven Institution in Bath say an inmate died in custody over the weekend.
Prison officials say Michael Issariotis, who was an inmate in the Regional Treatment Centre, died on Saturday.
Issariotis had been in custody since October of 2015, serving a sentence of just over eight years, for various assault and weapons charges.
No other details were released but staff say, as in all cases of an inmate dying in custody, the Correctional Service of Canada will be reviewing what happened and the police and coroner have been notified.
Staff say Issariotis’ family has been notified as well.
