The southern part of Brighton in the area of Harbour Street was the scene of a lot of police activity
for several hours starting in the supper hour yesterday (Sunday).
Northumberland OPP officers along with Emergency Response, Tactical, K9, and Crisis officers converged on a residence where a distraught person was barricaded inside a room and refusing to come out.
Fortunately at 2:30 this morning (Monday), the individual was safely apprehended under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital for assessment and treatment.
