There could be a firm date for a start to organized on-ice recreation activities in the Municipality of Brighton after tonight’s council meeting.
Brighton council will see a staff report suggesting that the ice be ready to go for use at King Edward Park starting on September 28.
Staff suggest many other communities are planning for a start to ice season on the same date.
Meanwhile, if council approves, development charges on new building in the Municipality of Brighton will increase a bit.
A staff report recommends council approve an increase of 2.6% to development charges.
If approved that would mean development charges on a new single or semi-detached house in urban Brighton would rise from $10,264 to $10,530.
In rural Brighton, charges on a new home would go up from $8,321 to $8,537.
Brighton council meets virtually tonight (Monday) at 6:30.
