Break & Enter
On August 8, 2020 at approximately 5 p.m., city police received a call regarding a suspect booting in the front door of a residence on Pine St. The complainant could not tell police if entry was made or if there were any victims in the residence. Officers arrived on scene and called out to any residents/victims in the house and received no replies. Belleville Police K9 Unit attended and cleared the residence for any possible suspects.
No parties were located inside the residence. The home was secured by police and residents were notified.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On August 8, 2020 at approximately 6:30 p.m., city police attended the intersection of Bell Blvd. and North Park St. regarding a motor vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported and there was moderate damage to both vehicles. A 55-year-old Belleville man was charged with Unsafe Lane Move under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
Family Disturbance
On August 8, 2020 at approximately 9 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on Casey Rd. in Thurlow Township regarding a family dispute. Upon arrival officers found two adult sisters in a physical altercation. Alcohol was found to be a factor. A 28-year-old woman was arrested for the disturbance as she remained combative with police and other family members. She was brought to the Belleville Police cells to sleep off her alcohol impairment.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville police responded to seven motor vehicle collisions throughout the city during the past 24 hours. There were no serious injuries reported.
