The City of Belleville is getting futuristic with its annual sidewalk inspections this month.
The city is mandated by the province to inspect sidewalks annually to look for deficiencies and issues that need repair and this year, has decided to partner with a tech start-up called Top Hat Robotics for some help.
The company based in Kitchener-Waterloo will be sending a number of sidewalk inspecting robots, that will roll along city streets and detect any of those issues that staff would be looking to find and fix.
Each robot will be accompanied by a Top Hat Robotics employee, who will be happy to answer any questions residents might have.
You can also reach out to the city’s Operations Department (613-967-3275) with any other questions, or click here for more information.
