Northumberland OPP are investigating an armed robbery in Colborne.
Police say around 11 a.m. Friday they responded to a call about an armed robbery in progress at a CIBC branch located in Colborne.
They say a man walked in with what appeared to be a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money as well as a necklace and took off in what police say may have been a grey four-door Toyota sedan waiting outside driven by an accomplice. Police also say that during the robbery, two bank employees sustained minor injuries after the suspect grabbed and pushed them. They were treated at the scene by Northumberland paramedics.
The man was described as black, around 5’9″ in height, between 20 and 30 years old, around 150 lbs. with an athletic build and short curly hair. They also say he was dressed in baggy black pants and a black long sleeve shirt, white framed sunglasses and white Nike shoes. Police say he may have changed into a white shirt after the robbery.
Police say the accomplice was another black man.
