Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. to assist at an all terrain vehicle (ATV) collision on Belmont 6th Line.
The complainant reported that an ATV had lost control and crashed into the ditch in front of their residence.
The driver suffered minor injuries and the passenger was not injured. Both were not wearing helmets.
The 16-year-old driver was charged with:
- Novice driver: B.A.C. above zero
- Careless driving
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Fail to wear proper helmet
- Fail to remain
- No driver’s licence
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 9, 2020.
