Loyalist College will be adding an important link to the development of a cycling network in Belleville’s west end.
Yesterday (Tuesday), Loyalist’s administration announced that, in partnership with Belleville and after consultations with Quinte Conservation, it will build a 450 metre path and bridge to link the college campus with Avonlough Road.
The pedestrian/cycling path and bridge will cross over Potter’s Creek, known to many as Jones’ Creek.
The project will cost about $500,000, with Loyalist paying $400,000 of that and the city picking up the rest of the tab.
There will be a tender call later this year.
