Officials with Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health say all confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our region are considered to be “medically resolved”, meaning there are no more active cases in the two counties.
The Health Unit’s online COVID-19 Dashboard continues to show one active case, but spokesperson Emily Tubbs tells Quinte News that the case is considered resolved, “based on the time criteria set out by the Ministry of Health”.
The case will remain on the website as “technically active” until that person no longer tests positive.
Public health staff say that while it is good news to see the numbers finally clear out, “residents must remain diligent with infection control practices” moving forward, to prevent another spike.
Hastings-Prince Edward hasn’t seen a new confirmed case of COVID-19 since May 18.
In Northumberland County, 20 of 21 total confirmed cases have been resolved.
