Province kicks in on transit covid cleaning costs

Dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic has been a costly process for most organizations including public transit systems.

Today (Tuesday) Bay of Quinte riding MPP and cabinet minister Todd Smith announced special funding to help cover
the extra money being spent on keeping buses, terminals, and other facilities linked to public transit properly sanitized.

Belleville is receiving $32,876, Quinte West $21,848, and Prince Edward County $9,240.

Smith says the government’s top priority is keeping people safe while the reopening of the economy continues.
