OPP say a man charged after a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 401 on Friday morning, was also involved in another incident on Saturday.
Quinte West officers were called to reports of an erratic driver in the eastbound lanes around 10:00a.m., with the car crashing near St. Hillaire Road about 15 minutes later.
Police say the driver got out of the car and became aggressive with officers, so a taser was used to get him under control and take him into custody, before he was released.
On Saturday afternoon, officers got a call about a man trying to steal a car on Campbell Street.
Investigators say the suspect got in an argument with the car owner, stripped off his clothes and then ran from the scene, before being arrested on John Street.
32 year-old Kyle Showers of Tweed is charged with the following offences in connection o Friday’s crash:
- Dangerous Operation motor vehicle
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Assault
- Robbery with Intent – Three Counts
He has further been charged with these offences in connection to the incident on Saturday:
- Theft under $5000
- Theft Over $5000
- Indecent Exhibition
Showers was held in custody following his arrest on Saturday and was scheduled for a bail hearing yesterday.
