It was a record year for fundraising by the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
At its annual general meeting yesterday (Thursday) Foundation members learned that for the first time ever over $2.3 million had been raised during its 2019/20 fiscal year.
Some of the priority medical equipment bought for the hospital in Picton included a portable X-Ray machine and an ultrasound stretcher.
Over half the money, or about $1.5 million, went toward the foundation’s Back the Build campaign which will pay for equipment at the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, which is in the planning stages.
That campaign’s goal is $16.5 million.
