Plans for a gas bar and convenience store on Highway 62, south of Old Madoc Road, raised some concerns at Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee’s virtual meeting Monday night.
Owner Shawn Milne outlined the business which is proposed for the Foxboro area and includes a Burger King with a drive-thru.
Plans call for two entrances off Highway 62, and there will be parking spaces.
Committee member Kathryn Brown expressed concern about increased traffic and the fact that the highway only had a narrow shoulder.
Committee Chair Councillor Paul Carr called for information on a possible water source that doesn’t impact the existing properties in the area.
Councillor Bill Sandison questioned if there should be an environmental assessment of the property.
The committee referred the issue back to staff for a full report which will come back to the next meeting.
