Construction activity in Quinte West for the first four months of 2020 is sitting at less than half the value for the same period last year.
Statistics released by the city’s building department show $21.9 million in construction value to the end of April, compared to $53.3 million for the same period in 2019.
There were 177 building permits issued so far this year compared to 231 for the same period last year.
There was a large difference in the numbers for the month of April itself.
The total value for last month was $5.1 million compared to $37.8 million in April of 2019.
