Baseball season might be on hold due to COVID-19, but a member of the Toronto Blue Jays broadcast team has been busy, helping to deliver personal protective equipment across the province.
Sportsnet Studio Host Jamie Campbell made a stop in Belleville Saturday afternoon as part of his tour promoting the Conquer COVID-19 initiative and delivered a box of PPE to staff at Pathways to Independence.
He says while most of the places he’s been have enough PPE for day-to-day needs, some smaller areas are feeling the pinch.
Campbell says while his stop in the Friendly City was a short one there are some ways you can get involved.
Along with the 2,800 km trek that’s taken him from his home in Toronto, as for north as Timmins and as far east as Cornwall, Campbell and fellow broadcaster Buck Martinez have also been calling baseball fans across the country to check in and see how they’re doing.
He says there seems to be one prevalent theme in all of those conversations.
