A 66-year-old from Kitchener has been arrested after concerned drivers reported an erratically driven transport truck on the westbound Highway 401, on Saturday.
A Lennox and Addington OPP officer was able to track down the suspect vehicle in Loyalist Township shortly later and clocked the truck going 115 kilometres an hour, which is 10 over the maximum for transports.
OPP say the officer was able to determine that the driver was impaired by drugs and a search of the truck led to a seizure of more than 250 methamphetamine pills, with an estimated street value of more than $6,300.
Terry Waechter was charged with impaired driving and drug possession and was released with a court date in Napanee at the end of may.
The truck was seized by police and impounded for a week.
