UPDATE: 4 p.m. Monday
The Mohawk demonstration near the CN rail line east of Belleville has come to an end.
OPP say they maintained open, respectful and honest dialogue with all parties in Tyendinaga Township on Monday as the protest camps at the CN main rail line were removed.
According to police, all demonstrators were given the option of leaving the site or being arrested.
OPP spokesman Bill Dickson tells Quinte News 10 people were arrested.
The demonstration, lasting more than two weeks, had been in support of demonstrations in British Columbia objecting to a plan to run a $6 billion Coastal GasLink natural gas pipeline through Wet’suwet’en aboriginal land in that province.
