Local police have found thousands of dollars worth of drugs, cash and weapons, and arrested six people, during a raid on a home in Belleville yesterday.
Members of the Belleville Police and OPPO Street Crime Units, along with the BPS Emergency Response Team, searched the home in the west end of the city and seized three ounces of cocaine, with a street value of $4,200, along with $10,000 in cash, knives and other drug paraphernalia.
Two women, three men and a young offender, ranging in age from 23 to 44, were arrested and are facing charges including drug possession, drug trafficking and others
Thirty-seven-year-old Melissa Danis of Belleville had outstanding warrants and was arrested in connection to that, with a court appearance scheduled on November 7.
Police say 29-year-old Alisha Maille was found in possession of a small amount of cocaine and was charged with drug possession, with a November 25 court date.
Forty-three-year-old Derek Fritz and 44-year-old Jamal Safi, both of Belleville, were charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime.
They will also be in court on November 25.
Twenty-three-year-old Terrence Munroe and a young offender, both from Toronto, are also facing the same charges and will be in court today.
