A Belleville Police spokesperson says a heavy police presence on North Front Street this morning was related to a call involving a potential gun.
Staff Sergeant Al Portt tells Quinte News officers responded to a motel, south of Bell Boulevard, around 9:00 a.m. after reports of a dispute involving a gun.
He says the police force takes any call involving a gun very seriously, which is why so many officers responded, but the situation has been deescalated.
He added that officers did recover an imitation gun, but no actual weapons were found.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
