A recent gift to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation means some crucial diagnostic equipment can be added to the Nuclear Medicine Department.
The $300,000 donation was made by the Walter Thomas Elliott Charitable Foundation and will be used to buy two new cameras which will help with early detection of various diseases including breast cancer and others.
It’s all part of a revamping of the department, which also includes a new CT scanner and will eventually lead to lower radiation exposure and faster scanning time for all patients.
The WT Elliott Foundation has been a regular contributor to the BGHF over the years and with the most recent donation, has given close to half a million dollars to the Belleville hospital.
