Belleville council is being asked to create a new committee to guide the city’s fire department.
At its meeting Monday, council will see a report from Fire Chief Mark MacDonald recommending a Protective Services Advisory Committee be formed.
In the spring of of 2018, a consulting company was hired to to do an in depth review.
The Pomax Core Services Review is now complete.
Chief MacDonald says the report is a game changer and will need concerted study over time leading to his recommendation to strike a new committee.
Council will also hear a report on the city’s finances to the end of last year at its meeting Monday which begins at 4 p.m. at city hall.
