Prince Edward OPP are thanking a civilian who stepped in to help a man who was drowning at Sandbanks Provincial Park this past weekend.
Emergency crews were called to the Dunes Beach around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, where the 30-year-old man had been pulled from the water and a civilian was performing CPR on him.
Members of the Prince Edward Fire Department and Hastings-Quinte EMS began emergency treatment and took the man to hospital in critical condition.
OPP say he is still in hospital but no update was given on his current condition.
They are thanking everyone involved in helping with the man’s rescue.
