Rotary Club of Picton donates $10,000 to hospital campaign

An annual wine tasting event in Prince Edward County has led to a large donation to the campaign for a new hospital in Picton.

Members of the Rotary Club of Picton presented the PEC Hospital Foundation with a $10,000 cheque towards the new hospital build on Tuesday.

The money was raised during the fifth annual Uncork Canada event held in June.

The hospital foundation is trying to hit its largest fundraising goal in its 34-year history, looking to raise $16.5 million over the next five years.

The foundation and others tied to the hospital are for the Treasury Board to approve the stage two submission so the building process can move forward.
