A Toronto area man has been charged with street racing on Highway 401.
Northumberland OPP officers clocked a car going 173 km/h in the eastbound lanes in Port Hope, near Wesleyville Road, around 1:00 p.m. last Friday.
Thirty-five-year-old Patrick Abdullah of Scarborough is facing charges and had his licence suspended for a week and his car impounded.
He’ll appear in court at the end of August.
Police are reminding drivers that everyone plays a role in highway safety and you should do your part by slowing down, being patient and driving according to weather and traffic conditions.
