Two municipalities in Hastings-Lennox and Addington will split $1.76 million in provincial funding through the Connecting Links Program.
MPP Daryl Kramp announced just over $1.6 million for the Town of Bancroft to rehabilitate a portion of Monk Street, also known as Highway 28, which is one of the town’s main thoroughfares.
The other project is in Bath, where Loyalist Township is getting $72,000 for a detailed design on resurfacing Bath Main Street and replacing culverts there.
That street is considered one of the oldest highways in the province and dates back to the 1780s.
Those projects are part of a total $20 million being handed out by the province through the Connecting Links Program this year, to support 25 projects in 23 municipalities.
