A shoplifting complaint at a Havelock grocery store has led to drug charges.
Northumberland OPP were called to Foodland in Havelock, around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and ended up arresting a 47-year-old man after he was found in possession of illicit drugs.
Investigators say the substance was sent to Health Canada for identification and was found to be Carfentanil.
Jason Lawrence of Trent Hills has been charged with drug possession, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and shoplifting under $5,000.
He was scheduled to appear in Peterborough Court Wednesday morning.
