Northumberland OPP say a domestic incident in Roseneath has led officers to lay assault charges.
Police were called to a residence on Sunday night and once officers arrived, an intoxicated 50-year-old woman from Alnwick-Haldimand Township became verbally abusive and aggressive towards officers.
A physical confrontation then took place according to police which led to the woman being arrested following the assault of an officer.
She is facing assault with intent to resist arrest charges.
The woman was released once sober and will appear in court at a later date in July.
