Officials at Bath Institution near Kingston say an inmate has died in custody.
Specific details weren’t released, but Assistant Warden Debbie Hutchinson says 69 year-old Walter Floyd Matchett died at the prison today.
He had been serving an indeterminate sentence for sexual assault since November 14, 2001.
Hutchinson says Matchett’s family has been notified and the Correctional Service of Canada will be notifying the coroner, so they can investigate.
