Provincial cuts hit tourism board
The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board isn’t immune to the provincial cutting block.
Executive Director Dug Stevenson told the board at their Friday meeting that the RTO 9, which they are a member of, saw their funding cut by $300,000.
That means the Regional Marketing Board is out $23,000.
Stevenson says it isn’t all bad news though.
He expects the Board will see a revenue increase based on the Municipal Accommodation Tax put in place by both Quinte West and Belleville, which is slated to take effect on July 1.
Brighton takes seat at the table
Brighton has been welcomed with open arms back into the fold of the Board of Quinte Regional Marketing Board.
Executive Director Dug Stevenson says it’s exciting to have the municipality back.
Deputy Mayor Laura Vink was welcomed aboard on Friday at the May meeting at the Country Inn and Suites in Belleville.
