At approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2019, while conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 62, a Prince Edward County officer viewed a vehicle travelling southbound at a high rate of speed near Jericho Road.
The officer stopped the vehicle on Highway 62 and charged the driver, 25-year-old Ronald Hill from Ottawa with stunt driving.
Hill’s licence was seized and suspended. The vehicle was also impounded for 7 days.
While speaking with the driver the officer noticed drug paraphernalia on the passenger seat and on further investigation found one pound of dried cannabis, approximately 16 grams of a cocaine-like substance, and trafficking paraphernalia.
Hill was arrested and charged with multiple drug related charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a schedule 1 substance. Hill will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on May 29, 2019 to answer to the charges.
