Belleville council is expected to decide whether or not to go ahead with some major work on a couple of streets in an older part of the city at its meeting today (Monday).
The reconstruction of Strachan and Harvey Streets, running off Moira Street East, will involve storm and sanitary sewer separation, new curbs, new sidewalks, and new paving.
Staff is recommending the job go to the lowest of seven bidders, R.W. Tomlinson Limited, based out of Ottawa.

Meanwhile, staff is recommending Greenwood Paving of Pembroke do the resurfacing on parts of several rural roads.
Greenwood’s tender at just over 1.2 million dollars plus HST was the lowest of two tenders.
Roads, or parts thereof, to be resurfaced include Scuttlehole, Bethel, Harmony, River, Brennan, and Airport roads.
