After recently completing a $100,000 campaign for the cancer care centre at Belleville General Hospital, the BGH Auxiliary is making another funding pledge.
The BGHA has announced its intention to commit another $100,000 towards the building of a new fracture clinic at the hospital.
The new development would expand the fracture clinic to 3,000 square feet in its current area on Quinte 1, making it four times its current size and would accommodate six surgeons each week.
The Belleville General Hospital Foundation says it needs to raise $375,000 locally so that the government will give Quinte Health Care the remainder of the funds needed for the project, so the BGHA donation will be a big step towards that.
One of the major events helping to reach that goal is the Fairways for Fractures golf tournament coming up on June 13, 2019 at Black Bear Ridge.
