Six seniors programs in North Hastings are getting some funding from the Federal Government.
MP Mike Bossio announced a total of $115,859 from the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
The Shamrock Seniors Club will get $25,000 to buy a new furnace and upgrade main level flooring.
The Bancroft Curling Club will get another $25,000 to replace an aging condenser to improve ice conditions.
The Little Mississippi Seniors Club will get almost $21,000 for a new digital sign.
Hospice North Hastings will get about $13,500 for a workshop to introduce older adults to dance and music.
The Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle will get $20,400 to upgrade their kitchen and provide barrier free experiences for seniors and the North Hastings Heritage Museum will get about $11,000 to create a book of childhood memories from seniors in North Hastings.
The 2019 federal budget also proposes an additional $100 million for the New Horizons program this year.
