The City of Belleville released a survey on the tourism and events business sector in the municipality.
At Sans Souci Friday morning, the results of the Business Retention and Expansion survey were unveiled.
It is the 23rd survey done by the municipality over the last two decades. 55 different businesses in the sector took part in confidential interviews (61 percent of those asked), to find out what works, and what needs improvement municipally.
Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk says there is more good news than bad.
Belleville City Councillor Kelly McCaw is the chair of the Business Retention and Expansion Committee.
Manager of Economic Development Karen Poste tells Quinte News there is good and bad in the sector.
When visitors were asked what they were looking to experience while staying in Belleville, the most popular answers were restaurants, Prince Edward County, the waterfront, culture and retail.
Belleville’s location was seen as one of its biggest strengths, while workforce availability was a major challenge. The workforce had also been named in several other BRE surveys from other sectors.
