Dramatic drop in thefts from vehicles

There were a lot fewer thefts from motor vehicles last year than in 2017.

At a meeting Tuesday, Belleville Police Chief Ron Gignac will tell the Police Services Board
that there were 211 fewer thefts from vehicles in 2018, a drop of 53 percent.

The Chief attributes that success to a focused effort not only by police officers, but to auxiliary officers, Loyalist College students and local media.
