The first ever Belleville Housing Summit gets underway next week.
There is an affordable housing crisis identified for the municipality, and numerous stakeholders will be in attendance.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk says supply in the municipality is a major issue.
Panciuk says recent stats show the city had the third highest rental rate increase in Canada.
Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Housing Christine Hogarth, MPP Todd Smith, staff with the City of Belleville, Hastings County, and many others are taking part.
Officials with CMHC, the Canadian Mental Health Association, Habitat for Humanity, the Quinte Landlord’s Association, Quinte Home Builders, will also be on hand.
It goes Monday and Tuesday in the multi-purpose room at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
