Belleville Police have identified the man who died in an altercation on Murney Street on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the deceased is Nicolas Wilson, a 23-year-old from London, Ontario.
Detectives in the Criminal Investigations Branch have charged 49-year-old Fredrick Gordon Howes with first degree murder.
The Belleville man appeared in court for a bail hearing at 1 p.m. where he is facing a first degree murder charge and a breach of recognizance charge.
The investigation is ongoing.
