A local youth group is the latest beneficiary of the 100+ Women Who Care Quinte.
Members of the philanthropic group meet four times a year and vote on a recipient of a $10,000 donation and on Tuesday, a cheque for $10,325 was presented to the Quinte Royal Canadian Sea Cadets.
Navy League Board Member Stella Colwill says the cash will allow for some improvements to be made at the cadets’ headquarters on South Front Street, in Belleville.
Colwill adds that the money will also go a long way towards supporting local youths.
The 100+ Women Who Care Quinte are into their fourth year of meeting and have donated a total of $187,990 over that span.
Their next meeting will be on March 5 at the Banquet Centre in Belleville.
