Quinte West council is set to make a move that would bring the creation of a six-bed hospice serving both
Belleville and Quinte West a reality.
At its meeting Monday night council will be asked to declare three acres of land across from Bayside Secondary School as
surplus to the needs of the city.
That land could then be transferred to Hospice Quinte to be used for its residential hospice building.
Quinte West council had previously set aside one million dollars to go toward the cost of construction of the hospice.
Hospice Quinte continues fundraising efforts.
