The Wellington Dukes continued their winning ways over the Trenton Golden Hawks last night in the Battle of Quinte.
In front of a Dukes homecrowd, Wellington doubled up on the visiting Golden Hawks 4-2 with the help of a three goal third period.
Trenton grabbed the first goal of the game just over 2 and a half minutes into the game on a Ted Davis unassisted goal, but it was shortlived, as Frank Vitucci got Wellington on the board 61 seconds later.
The Golden Hawks would take their second lead of the game late in the middle frame with a second goal from Davis.
In the third period it was all Wellington, with goals from Vitucci, Ben Woodhouse and Brent Humberstone.
Head Coach John Druce says they haven’t done anything differently since the Christmas break, but the team chemistry is clicking.
Benjamin AllardRobitaille took the loss in net and Logan Bateman grabbed the win.
Woodhouse, Davis and Keenan Eddy grabbed the three stars of the game.
Next up for Trenton is a match up against Markham on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and the Dukes are off until Thursday when they will then face off against Kingston.
In Junior C play, the Napanee Raiders got by the Gananoque Islanders 5-1.
