OPP in Quinte West are reminding transport drivers to pay attention to signage on 2nd Dug Hill Road, north of Highway 2, which prohibits those large vehicles on that stretch.
The detachment responded to nine different reports of transports hitting the CP Rail overpass, south of Telephone Road, in 2018 alone.
Five drivers were charged with a total of eight offences that include careless driving, disobeying signs and failing to report crashes.
Police say they take these incidents very seriously and will continue to fully investigate and review any similar incidents involving the CP Rail overpass on 2nd Dug Hill Road.
They say, to be safe, drivers should just obey the signs and find another route.
