While some area waterways may be frozen enough for skating or ice fishing, emergency personnel in the Bancroft area want to remind you that not all of them are safe.
Bancroft OPP were called to the York River in Bancroft today, where a group of youths was spotted playing on the ice in an area that is typically thin due to strong currents.
An officer spoke to the group and they moved away from the area.
Parents are reminded to tell their kids about the dangers of going through the ice and to always be cautious before venturing out on frozen waterways.
