A recent report suggests employers in the Belleville area are anticipating an “upbeat hiring climate” to start 2019.
The latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey shows 13% of employers plan to hire in the January-to-March quarter of next year, while 87% plan to maintain their current staffing levels.
Manpower says, with seasonal variations removed, the 14% Net Employment Outlook for the first quarter of 2019, is the same as the last quarter of 2018 and is a 10% jump from the first quarter of this year.
The company says employers are still having trouble finding qualified candidates to fill some jobs, which is driving up wages and some businesses are trying to do more with less to stay competitive.
