Update at 3:28 p.m.:Premier Doug Ford says he’s recalibrating his cabinet after only four months in office to ensure his government continues to deliver on its election promises.
Ford announced the cabinet shuffle just days after Jim Wilson resigned as economic development minister and left the Tory caucus to seek what the premier’s office says is treatment for addiction issues.
Wilson is being replaced by Government House Leader Todd Smith who will also be economic development minster, while several other ministers are switching portfolios — including John Yakabuski who is moving to natural resources and Jeff Yurek who is taking over as transportation minister.
Backbench M-P-P Bill Walker is being promoted to minister of government and consumer services.
