It’s back to the drawing board for the traffic issue on Belleville’s North Front Street.
The city’s Traffic Advisory Committee had recommended not allowing left turns at Donald Street and North Front Street.
Some residents in the area had asked for the change.
Donald Street is near the McDonald’s Restaurant and the intersection has been the scene of several collisions.
Councillor Jack Miller told city council Monday night the proposal would create some other traffic issues.
Miller says there’s also the issue of King George Square with its left turns, and such a move could make the situation even more dangerous.
Council referred the matter back to the Traffic Committee.
