The City of Belleville is joining local conservation authorities and warning about the risks OF potential rising water levels.
While no major flooding is expected, smaller streams, ponds and properties in low lying areas could be susceptible to flooding, because of the amount of rain, freezing rain and melting snow over the past week.
The City of Belleville says it is continuing to monitor conditions and if needed, will take action to mitigate any disruption or damage caused by water levels.
City staff also echo the sentiment that you should stay away from river banks and shoreline areas as they can be come slippery and dangerous this time of year.
