The Belleville Police Service responded to 57 calls for service between April 3, 2018 from 5 a.m. and April 4, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Police responded to nine 911 hangups in the preceding 24 hour period. All were deemed to be dialed in error / accident while one was streamed to another form of police communication as it appeared to have been a request on behalf of another police service. In all, nobody was found to be in any distress.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Police responded to four motor vehicle collisions in the preceding 24 hour period. At 3:13 p.m. a black Sedan was reported to have been struck by a Dodge Journey along the Dundas Street West area. The vehicle left the area and an investigation for failing to remain is underway. Anyone with information on this is asked to contact Cst. David Johnston #141 at (613) 966-0882 ext. 4141.
At 3:15 p.m. police responded to a collision in the Bridge Street East and Bleecker Avenue area. Two motor vehicles sustained damage. While there were no injuries reported, one driver was charged with disobeying a stop sign under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
At 5:23 p.m. two vehicles collided in the College Street West and North park Street area. Damage was reported as minimal and both drivers agreed to settle civilly.
At 6:53 p.m. police responded to a three car collision in the Sidney Street and College Street West area. Officers arrived to investigate and observed the damage. Drivers were spoken to and one driver was observed to have consumed alcohol. As a result a female driver who was struck was transported to Quinte Healthcare Corp – Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries. All three vehicles sustained moderate damage. Thirty-year-old Raymond Scott Woodall of Belleville has been charged with failing to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device and careless driving. He was released on a Promise-to-Appear in Provincial Court later this month.
At 10:46 p.m. police responded to a family dispute in the west end of the city. A younger resident of a home was being aggressive with her mother and another sibling. Police arrived and calmed the situation. Nobody was hurt and there were no charges.
At 1:09 a.m. police responded to a North Front Street business for a report of a domestic argument in progress. A 22-year-old female and a 27-year-old male were having a disagreement over a cell phone. The persons were spoken to. There was no injuries reported and no charges were laid.
Other Disturbance / Police Assist Calls
