Bancroft OPP have identified a woman killed in a fire at an area retirement home earlier this month.
Investigators say 74-year-old Margaret Kellestine was killed in the blaze at R.J. Brooks Retirement Centre, in Bancroft, on March 15.
Emergency crews responded to the Alice Street facility just after 4:00 a.m. that morning and all other residents were evacuated and moved to the Bancroft Bible Chapel, next door on Hastings Street North.
The Ontario Fire Marshal says the blaze was deemed as accidental and was caused by careless smoking.
No charges have been laid.
