A Belleville man is in custody following a break and enter early Sunday morning.
At 1 a.m., police officers attended at Elizabeth Crescent after getting a report from a neighbour of the sound of glass breaking and the observation of a male running southbound.
Officers then went to Cooke Court, found the man in a backyard, and promptly arrested him.
They recovered stolen property, including a box with car ramps and determined that a window had been broken on a garage at a residence on Elizabeth Crescent.
The 28-year-old man was held for a bail hearing Sunday on charges of break and enter with intent, two counts of possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, attempted escape from lawful custody, and two counts of prowling by night.
Woman arrested after disturbance
An unruly patient at Belleville General Hospital was tamed by Belleville Police Saturday afternoon.
Around 4:30 p.m, officers were called to the hospital to deal with the disturbance and arrested a 38-year-old Belleville woman for breach of the peace.
Alcohol was determined to be a factor in this incident.
