Joanne Belanger is likely to be acclaimed as the provincial NDP candidate for the Bay of Quinte riding.
On Sunday afternoon, Belanger will stand as the only nominated candidate for the New Democrats.
Belanger’s husband and campaign manager Terry Cassidy, says she is a counselor of 26 years, and currently serves as the chaplain at Nicholson Catholic College in Belleville.
She has spent time working as a counselor at the MFRC in Trenton, and has a degree in Political Science at McMaster, and Theological Studies from Queen’s.
Belanger has seven children and lives in Quinte West.
She is also pro-life, which is contrary to the NDP policy, however they did accept her position on the issue.
The nomination meeting is Sunday at 2 p.m., at the Trent Port Marina.
